The Nice Girls Guide To

Not confusing your situation with who you are

Have you ever found yourself confusing who you are with where you are? It's a common trap we all fall into from time to time. Maybe you're feeling down because you're stuck in a dead-end job or living in a city you don't love. But here's the thing: your location or circumstances do not define who you are. Your thoughts and beliefs about yourself are what truly matter.

That's where the power of positive thinking comes in. By shifting your mindset to one of positivity, you can transform your thoughts and beliefs about yourself, no matter where you’re at in your life.

When you believe in yourself and your abilities, you radiate confidence and create opportunities and space to attract positive experiences into your life.

One way to practice positive thinking is to focus on your strengths, Instead of dwelling on your shortcomings or failures, celebrate your successes and the things you're good at. You are so much more than your current job or living situation.

Another strategy is to remember that everything in life is temporary. It's easy to get caught up in the belief that our current circumstances are permanent. Maybe you're feeling down because you're going through a tough time, such as a break-up or job loss. Dislike the apartment or your roommate you’re living with? It’s temporary.

When we practice positive thinking, we're essentially training our minds to focus on the good in our lives, rather than the bad. This doesn't mean we ignore or deny the difficult situations we may be facing. Rather, it means we choose to focus on the things that bring us joy and positivity, even amidst challenging times.

By cultivating a positive mindset, we also develop resilience and the ability to bounce back from setbacks. We learn to trust that things will improve, and we have the confidence to keep moving forward.

And finally, practice gratitude. Even if your current situation isn't ideal, there are always things to be thankful for. Take a few minutes each day to reflect on the blessings in your life, whether it's a supportive friend or a beautiful day outside.

So, if you find yourself confusing who you are with where you are this summer, remember the power of positive thinking. You are so much more than your circumstances, and by shifting your mindset to one of positivity, you'll attract confidence and positivity into your life. Focus on the good in your life and practice gratitude for the blessings you do have Celebrate your strengths, surround yourself with positivity, and trust that things will be better.

So, if you're feeling down this summer, remember that things are only temporary.

And if you need a little extra boost, remember that you're not alone. We all face difficult times and struggles, but with the power of positive thinking, we can overcome them and emerge stronger and more confident than ever before.

How You Can Use Breath Work To Help You Chill This Summer

As the summer heats up, it's important to find ways to stay cool and calm, especially when things get stressful. One technique you definitely don't want to miss out on is breath work! By utilizing specific breathing techniques, you can help soothe your mind and body, and enjoy a more relaxed summer season.

One of the simplest and most effective breathwork techniques is deep breathing.

To try this,

  1. find a quiet space and sit or lie down comfortably.

  2. Place one hand on your chest and the other on your stomach.

  3. Take a deep breath in through your nose, feeling your stomach expand.

  4. Hold for a few seconds,

  5. then exhale slowly through your mouth.

  6. Repeat this for several breaths, focusing on the sensation of your breath as it moves in and out of your body.

If you need guidance check out this video for beginners.

Another effective breath work technique is called alternate nostril breathing.

To try this,

  1. sit in a comfortable position with your eyes closed.

  2. Use your right hand to close your right nostril with your thumb,

  3. and inhale deeply through your left nostril.

  4. Then, use your ring finger to close your left nostril

  5. and exhale through your right nostril.

  6. Inhale through your right nostril,

  7. then switch back to your left nostril to exhale.

  8. Repeat this for several rounds, feeling your breath become slower and more relaxed with each cycle.

In addition to these techniques, you can also try incorporating breathwork into your daily routine.

For example,

  1. take a few deep breaths before starting your day or before going to bed at night.

  2. You can also practice breath work while doing other relaxing activities, such as taking a bath or getting a massage.

By incorporating breath work into your summer routine, you can help soothe your mind and body and enjoy a more relaxed, stress-free season.

So take a deep breath, girl, and let the power of breathwork help you chill out this summer!
