Strategies For Managing Social Anxiety In Summer Settings

As a seasoned pros at managing social anxiety in summer settings, we’re here to share some tips with you. Trust me, we've been there: Cinco De Mayo celebrations, weddings, and outdoor festivals can all be super intimidating. But we’ve got your back with some strategies to make it through without breaking a sweat.

First things first, preparation is key. Take a few minutes to picture yourself slaying the event, and come up with a game plan for how you'll handle any awkward or anxiety-inducing situations. And if you're feeling really nervous, bring along a trusted friend for backup.

Don't forget to take breaks when you need 'em. A little fresh air or a quick walk can do wonders for calming your nerves. And if all else fails, whip out those relaxation techniques you learned in yoga class. Deep breaths, girl.

And finally, don’t forget to set realistic expectations. It's important to keep it real and not put too much pressure on yourself to be the life of the party. We all have those awkward moments, so don't sweat it if you have a little stumble here or there. Just laugh it off and keep on keepin' on.

Social anxiety can be tough to manage, but you're doing your best and that's all anyone can ask. Remember to enjoy yourself and focus on making great memories.

Getting Back On Track After a Free For All Period

Hey there, my fellow night owls!

Listen up, because if you're struggling to get back into a routine after a period of free-for-all, I've got a story for you. I've been staying up until the wee hours of the morning for the past 2 months, and it's thrown my whole schedule out of whack. I'm talking about being up until 6 or 7 am, like a freaking vampire.

But here's the thing, babes. Being off your routine can really mess with your mood and leave you feeling sad. So, I'm doing a hard reset on my schedule next week, and I want you to join me!

Here's what my plan looks like, in case you want to follow along:

  1. Improve my sleep hygiene. Yeah, it's currently terrible, but I'm going to work on setting a sleep schedule, unplugging from electronics, and getting some daily daylight exposure. Zzzs, here I come!

  2. Create habit intentions. I'm taking a page out of James Clear's book, Atomic Habits, and using the After / Before / When I method to stack new habits onto existing ones. It's all about making small changes that add up to big results.

  3. Plan for failure. Let's face it, we're all human, and we're all going to slip up sometimes. But instead of beating ourselves up about it, let's plan for it and move on.

  4. Join a challenge. Personally, I'm all about Project 50, but find a challenge that works for you and get motivated to replace those bad habits with good ones.

So, let's do this, baddies! I'll report back in a few weeks to let you know how it's going. And remember, it's all about progress, not perfection.
